The Heat of July
We are deep in the heat of July around here, with the first of August fast approaching. We’ve actually had a pretty pleasant summer season so far, not nearly as hot and humid as is typical for our area. However this week is making up for it. And it seems each day ends with a powerful thunderstorm. We always hope it’s going to break the humidity, but of course it has the opposite approach. The air is thick with the humidity, making it feel like you want to jump in the nearest pool to escape the oppressiveness of it. Or escape back inside to the air conditioning. August will probably be much the same, and already I find myself longing for the crisper air of Autumn. Not that I want to rush time since the days fly by fast enough without me wishing them to go any faster. But when it gets stifling hot I can’t help but long for cooler days. Though I’m not wishing for snow just yet. Maybe a trip to the local ice rink might do the trick.
